How long will it take, doc? Understanding the different stages of treatment

The length of time it takes to transform someone’s smile will vary considerably. Every patient is different, and while some may have their teeth refreshed in just one sitting, the treatment plan for others may involve more invasive treatment over the course of six months to two years.

For those travelling a distance to have treatment with me or patients with a busy work/social life, I often get asked about the stages of treatment and how many times they’ll need an appointment. This is often a key consideration for people before they decide to embark on their new smile.

So with an array of cosmetic procedures available, this latest post aims to clarify the appointment stages for some of my most popular requests. It’ll be particularly helpful for those wanting to improve their smile because they’re getting married or for another special occasion – understanding the steps involved is key to being able to plan ahead.

Do bear in mind that this is intended as a guide only – every case is different, but the information should provide a useful starting point.
